The conversational form of the book, with all its possibilities, is what interests me. I like the range of materials and ideas, which can be incorporated into exciting and imaginative formats. The 'Book Arts' arena is one of the most adventurous, varied and often humorous areas in which artists can express ideas.
My books are mainly visual and the content deals with ideas about life, death and human values. The books are often based on observation of nature in gardens. Recently I have been interweaving strands of collaboration, investigation, installation and publication together. I always make the form of the book serve the idea.

Something Rich and Strange
In response to my exhibition of the same name, I have made a book in an edition of 25.
The circular shape reflects the circularity of decay and renewal.
The words are the gravestone poem, the concerns of the exhibition and the chemical elements common to humans and the soil.
The similarity of our chemical nature to the nature of soil, emphasises how closely we are entangled with all other life on earth.

The book is like a fan when closed and opens to reveal a full circle of pictures and information.
Closed 30cm x 9cm max. Open, 60cm diameter.
Digitally printed on Somerset enhanced archival paper 225g/m2 velvet, with additional transfer printing.
£35.00 + £3.00 p+p uk

From Dead Stars 2015
This star shaped book muses on the connections between chemical elements stored in the soil and the origins of such chemicals at the formation of our universe. It is a partner to the book "Something Rich and Strange"
Both are digitally printed on Somerset enhanced archival paper, 225g/m2 velvet.
In an edition of 25.
£16.00  + £2.00 p+p uk
