Artist Statement:
I created my first limited edition book as a student in 2004. Since then I have continued to make a variety of artist’s books, some as discrete works and others that intersect thematically with my print and small bronze works. My work is primarily about the human body. I question both historical and contemporary representations that bind us to negative roles and values. By individualizing the anatomy of the human body and by demystifying its functions, I hope to reconnect the viewer with their own physical and biological reality.
